AI visibility audit

Free AI visibility audit

Find out who ChatGPT recommends instead of you.

I run the questions your buyers ask through ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers. Then we go through the results on a 30-minute call. You leave with the numbers and a 90-day plan.

Ask ChatGPT who to hire

Try it now. Ask ChatGPT who to hire for what you sell. If it names three competitors and skips you, that’s the shortlist your buyers see too.

Most companies have never checked.

Try it

  • Who should I hire for [what you sell]?
  • Best [what you sell] for [who you sell to]
  • What do you know about [your company]?

What the audit covers

AI answers are hard to check by hand. They change from one run to the next, they differ by platform, and they rarely tell you why they left you out.

So I test it the slow way, then turn what I find into something you can use.

On my desk

  • Around 25 buyer prompts, built from how your customers ask for what you sell
  • Each prompt run several times on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, plus Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode
  • Mention and citation tracking for you and your top three competitors
  • Citation source analysis for your category
  • An accuracy check on what AI says about you
  • AI crawler access (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot), robots.txt and JavaScript rendering
  • Entity and schema check

On your desk

  • How often each assistant names you, next to your top three competitors
  • The prompts your competitors win and you don’t, ranked by how close each one sits to a purchase
  • The sites AI trusts in your category, and the ones you’re missing from
  • Anything AI gets wrong or out of date about you
  • A 90-day plan ranked by what should make you money first
  • The full report to keep, whether we work together or not

How it works

  1. 1

    You apply

You fill in the form at the top of this page. It takes about two minutes. The competitor question matters most, so take your time on that one.

  2. 2

    I read it

I read every request myself. If it’s a fit, you’ll get an email from me within two business days with a link to book the call.

  3. 3

    I run the audit

I run the audit before we talk, so the 30 minutes go to answers. Nobody wants to watch a loading bar together.

  4. 4

    We go through it

You get the report, the plan, and a straight answer on what I’d fix first. If you want help with the work, I’ll send a proposal. If you’d rather do it in-house, the plan works without me.

About the “if it’s a fit” part

I do each audit by hand, so I only take a few each month. If you don’t hear from me within two business days, this audit isn’t the right fit for you right now. It says nothing about your business. Everyone who applies gets an email with a short self-check, so you can still test the basics yourself.

Why I run it by hand

Free AI visibility checkers are useful for a first look. Most of them check whether AI can read your site. A few run a handful of generic prompts, once.

That leaves the questions that decide what you do next. Which prompts do your buyers actually use? Which sources does AI trust in your market? Which fix pays off first? Answering those takes someone who knows your market, runs each prompt more than once, and can tell a real pattern from a lucky answer.

This audit is a good fit when

  • You sell something people research before they buy.
  • Your website already gets some traffic from search.
  • You, or someone on the call, can approve a budget.
  • You want to act on what we find in the next three months.

It’s a poor fit if

  • You haven’t launched yet.
  • You want a guaranteed spot in ChatGPT.
  • You need a score for a slide and nothing more.

Questions about the AI visibility audit

What is an AI visibility audit?

An AI visibility audit measures how often AI assistants name your brand, cite your website, and describe you correctly when buyers ask about your category. It also shows who they recommend instead of you, and why.

How is it different from an SEO audit?

An SEO audit looks at how you rank in Google’s regular results. An AI visibility audit looks at what AI assistants say in their answers. The two overlap, but plenty of brands rank well in Google and barely show up in AI answers. Some people call this an AI SEO audit. Same idea.

Is a GEO audit or an AEO audit the same thing?

Mostly, yes. A GEO audit leans toward citations in ChatGPT and Perplexity. An AEO audit leans toward being the direct answer in Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode. This audit covers both, and the LLM visibility side too.

How do you measure AI visibility?

I track two numbers for each platform. Mention rate is how often AI names you for a prompt. Citation rate is how often it links to your pages as a source. Each prompt runs several times, because AI rarely gives the same answer twice.

What is a good AI visibility score?

There isn’t a universal one. A score only means something next to your competitors, on the prompts your buyers use. Being named in 20% of answers can be a strong result in a crowded category and a weak one in a small niche.

Can ChatGPT do an SEO audit?

It can list common issues. It can’t see your analytics, test itself fairly against other assistants, or know which prompts bring you revenue. It’s a keen intern. Don’t give it the keys.

Is the audit really free? What’s the catch?

It’s free for businesses that fit. The catch is small: it’s how I start conversations with companies I may work with. You keep the report either way, and there’s no obligation.

What happens if I don’t hear back?

It means the audit isn’t the right fit right now. If your situation changes, you’re welcome to apply again.

How long does it take?

About a week from the day you book. I run the audit before we talk, and the call takes 30 minutes.

Do I need to give you access to anything?

No. Everything runs from the outside, the same way your buyers see you. If you want AI referral traffic in the report, read-only access to GA4 helps, but it’s optional.

Can I use a free AI visibility checker instead?

For a first look, yes. It will tell you if AI crawlers can read your site. It won’t tell you which prompts matter in your market or what to fix first.
